Description:
Big House Press has an Editor position available. We are seeking someone who is extremely curious and attuned to current trends, thinks creatively, is an initiative-taker and happy to work both independently and collaboratively.
Responsibilities:
- Read and comment on author submissions
- Write tips sheets, catalogue copy, cover, flap copy, marketing memos
- Communicates with agents and authors
- Liaises with Publisher, Publicity, Art, and Production on various titles
- Manage titles through production and publication of titles
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years editorial experience
- Bachelors degree in related field preferred
- Broad range of editorial interests a must, esp. commercial fiction, popular culture and current affairs
- Excellent verbal and communication skills
- Strong attention to details
- Able to multi-task and able to meet tight deadlines

Responsibilities:
- Produce publicity materials
- Manage author review process
- Oversee national and local author tours
- Handle all television, radio and book signing details for authors
- Create publicity strategies and implement successful campaigns for a diverse list of titles
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years publicity experience
- Bachelors degree in related field preferred
- Publishing experience preferred
- Excellent verbal and communication skills
- Possess strong media relationships and knowledge of diverse media outlets
- High-energy and passionate about publishing
- Exceptional writing and communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to successfully manage multiple priorities
- Ability to demonstrate a creative, innovative and resourceful approach to publicity
